Los Goya, The Goya Awards

The Goya Awards, known in Spanish as los Premios Goya, are Spain's main national film awards, considered the Spanish equivalent to the American Academy Awards.

The awards were established in 1987. The ceremony continues to take place annually around the end of January, and awards are given to films produced during the previous year.
The award itself is a small bronze bust of the painter Francisco de Goya.



This year Volver by Pedro Almodovar and Pan's Labyrinth by the mexican Guillermo del Toro have been the Spanish Academy favorite movies, both with some chances in the Oscars, Penélope Cruz as best actress and Pan's Labyrinth as best foreign movie. In the list below you can find all the awards:
